Employers should not discriminate against people who have body piercings. Yes, this is a form of discrimination. Even though it doesn’t fall under the categories that usually accompany discrimination such as race, gender, or religion it is still wrong. An employer by not hiring a pierced person is ethically wrong. Employers who prohibit body piercing in the work environment are violating this right.

If employers claim to provide equal opportunity then they must respect the rights of all potential employees. Equal opportunity isn’t just about race, religion, and gender it is about all types of discrimination. Every person has rights and companies that discriminate are legally wrong and should rectify the problem before a lawsuit is pending against them.
